n-Butyllithium

n-Butyllithium

n-Butanol reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce a mixture of chlorobutane and by-products including butyl ether and butanol. After the chlorobutane, butyl ether, and n-butanol undergo multiphase azeotropic distillation and are condensed and separated, the organic phase is subjected to rough separation, extraction, and dehydration to obtain chlorobutane intermediates for use as raw materials for n-butyl lithium. The aqueous phase is processed through a stripping device to extract the dissolved organic substances back to the reaction section for further reaction.
