Metal lithium for lithium-ion batteries


The process of this project adopts the electrolysis process of anhydrous lithium chloride products in an anhydrous lithium chloride device. The electrolysis cell operates at a voltage of 220V, with the anode and cathode arranged alternately and a small distance between the electrodes. The cell voltage of a single electrolysis unit is low, significantly improving current efficiency, with a power consumption of less than 48,000 kWh per ton. Additionally, due to the electrolysis cell voltage being 220V, a large amount of copper transformers and wires is saved. The metallic lithium produced in this project is mainly used for lithium battery anode materials.
